Alumnus is a Latin word that for centuries has referred to a former student of an institution of learning. The plural is ‘Alumni’.
At Curtin, we define Alumni to be those who have been awarded a degree or other qualification from the University (or the institutions that preceded it), including those with honorary doctorate degrees. That means each student with a degree from Curtin University of Technology or its predecessors, the West Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) or Perth Technical College (PTC), is automatically a part of the Curtin Alumni network upon graduation, without fee and for life.
